Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an ESG Researcher with a passion for social impact and sustainability issues to join our ESG research team. The successful candidate will research the social and environmental impacts of products in specific industries and design assessment frameworks to derive actionable insights on those impacts for investors. S/he will demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, and experience manipulating and analyzing complex datasets to generate actionable insights. The individual will be expected to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and thus demonstrate ambition, excellent team-work skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

The role will provide a deep understanding of the environmental and social impacts of large corporations and their relevance for investors. It is also an opportunity to be part of the early stages of product development at a fast-growing SaaS startup.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and design industry specific frameworks to measure company’s product impacts
  • Continuously improve how we think and model ESG impact risks and opportunities and how we develop solutions for investors
  • Identify, map and analyze relevant datasets to enhance the impact calculations
  • Check and validate impact calculations and assumptions
  • Deliver relevant, actionable insights on companies to investors. Become a trusted go-to expert on core ESG topics
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Support the overall mission, vision and goals of Richmond Global Sciences

Skills and Requirements:

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret data, theorize, and make decisions based on data
  • Self-starter who will excel in a start-up environment by taking ownership and initiative
  • Passionate about social impact and sustainability issues and the use of data to solve them
  • Solid data analysis skills using Excel. Python skills are desirable
  • Advanced degree in economics, econometrics, finance, engineering, or related fields in the Sustainability area. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and a strong record of success doing similar work will be considered
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience, including designing and conducting quantitative research and analyzing data. Relevant knowledge or experience on specific industries would be desirable and should be highlighted in the application
  • Ability to communicate data insights to a non-analytical audience
  • Applicants need to be eligible to work in the UK or Hungary

  • Proven economic and statistical modelling skills
  • Strong coding skills, preferable in Python or R
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret data, theorize, and make decisions based on data
  • Experience relating to social and environmental impact methodologies, whether with a data provider, asset manager, or within academia
  • Experience guiding team members to implement technical methodology developments
  • Ability to communicate data insights to a non-analytical audience
  • Self-starter who will excel in a start-up environment by taking ownership and initiative

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Software Developer fluent in PySpark to join the Software Development team at RGS for a full-time role. The successful applicant will work closely with our Research team to implement the ESG data models and calculations for various industries end-to-end. S/he will be responsible for many elements in the data pipeline, including Data Normalization and Cleansing, ETL, implementing the Impact Calculations and Report Generation. The Data Engineer will also be involved in architectural design and decisions, overall product development, and data pipeline operation.

Besides the technical challenges, the role will provide the opportunity to understand the environmental and social impacts of large corporations and the early stages of product development at a fast-growing SaaS startup.

Responsibilities:

  • In close collaboration with the Research team, implement and productionize our proprietary, industry-specific impact models
  • Develop data models and pipelines for research, reporting, and machine learning
  • Operate our Databricks infrastructure
  • Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data issues and assist in the resolution

Skills and Requirements:

  • Passionate about social impact and sustainability issues and the use of data to solve them
  • Ability to interpret data and models and implement calculations efficiently
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Fluent SQL or PySpark on large data sets
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of Python development
  • Databricks experience is a plus
  • Data analysis using Excel and Python
  • Ability to communicate with a non-technical audience
  • Self-starter who will excel in a startup environment by taking ownership and initiative
